Application Load Balancing

Application Load Balancing is a technology solution that uses load balancing algorithms to choose the best application server to run an application.

Applications are distributed amongst multiple servers to provide the end-users with the best possible experience while using these applications and achieve optimal use of the servers.

Application load balancing also known as Layer 7 Load balancing is the load balancing of applications across multiple circuits connected to a load balancer appliance. This could be utilised for any voice, data, or video application on a network. For example, the application traffic of one user could utilise one circuit and the application traffic of another user could utilise another circuit.
