SDSL (Synchronous Bit digital subscribers Line also known as G.991.2) is a DSL technology that sends and receives high-speed symmetrical data streams at rates between 192Kbps and 2.31Mbps.
The term Synchronous in the title refers to the fact that upstream and downstream data rates are the same. SHDSL is therefore more suited to voice and data applications that need high upstream and downstream bit-rates and is well matched to applications such as VoIP and Videoconferencing.
